Enjoying the Waters, Setting off Sparks, and Changing the World as we know it. Set in the Valencia Corridor of the Mission District of San Francisco, circa 1990-2010, Rise Up at Liberty Springs tells the story of how politics and desire ignite one another.
This special concert brings together an all-star lineup led by seven-time Grammy-nominated percussionist, Mission district native and cultural historian John Santos, whose artistry and deep-rooted knowledge of Latin music have made him a cornerstone of the Bay Area’s vibrant scene.
Cuicacalli's Ballet Folklórico performance, "México Lindo y Querido," promises to transport audiences through the diverse regions of Mexico, showcasing traditional Zapateados, Faldeos, and Sombreros. This performance highlights the rich fusion of Indigenous, European, and African musical and dance styles that together gave rise to Folklore Mexicano. "México Lindo y Querido" will evoke feelings of pride, love, and joy—hallmarks of the vibrant culture that Mexico shares with the world. We invite the entire family to immerse themselves in the lively rhythms of Mexico alongside Cuicacalli Ballet Folklórico.
Scènes de Corps et d'Esprit by Antonia de Rendinger on May 9, 2025, at the Brava Theater in San Francisco. Antonia de Rendinger returns with Scènes de Corps et d'Esprit, an even more vibrant and brilliant show than the previous one, driven by sharp writing and smart staging. With a gallery of new characters and carefully chosen topics, she promises an unforgettable theatrical experience!
Delve into the communal and transformative power of music in this season finale featuring the music of Latinx composers. The Bay Area-based and internationally-acclaimed Friction Quartet joins guest vocalists in a prelude performance featuring Paul Mortilla’s Paradisio: Weavers of Light, depicting “the journey of the soul ascending through the various spheres of the universe.”
Indómitas is a live monthly podcast series hosted by Chelis López of KPOO and Radio Bilingüe, featuring untamable voices of fierce women artists and activists.
Kunoichi Productions, in partnership with Brava! For Women in the Arts and Theatre of Yugen, presents Pacific Overtures by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman. This mix elements of Kabuki theatre with the conventions of the Broadway musical is a highly original, powerful, educational and surprisingly humorous theatrical experience about Commodore Matthew Perry's 1853 mission to open trade relations with Japan.

With more resources going to pay bills, Brava needs to raise $50,000 over the summer to continue providing the highest quality of inspirational performances, support for the Artists, free and low-cost Youth Programs, and subsidies for the Community to host events at Brava.
