SFAC Shaping Legacy Gathering: Community Reimagining of the Francis Scott Key monument

Join us for the culminating event of our SFAC Shaping Legacy series on reimagining the Francis Scott Key monument, taking place onSunday, September 21st, 7pm at the Brava for Women in the Arts Theater Center.

Acclaimed artist Lava Thomas will share her creative journey and insights behind designing the powerful Maya Angelou monument at the SF Public Library. Facilitated by Paul S. Flores, the evening will also feature presentations by the two lead artists, CieraJevae ‘Cici’ Gordon and DJ Agana, selected to envision a new monument for Golden Gate Park—inspired by community dialogue and historical reflection.

We invite you to share your thoughts on the proposed designs through anonymous note cards. By contributing your voice, you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a prize!
