Volver a la Luz – Diana Gameros’ Album Release

Concert Singer-songwriter Diana Gameros invites audiences to a special evening celebrating the release of Volver a la Luz (Return to the Light). Two years in the making and made possible through the support of the prestigious Gerbode Grant and Women’s Audio Mission, this album reflects on themes of loss, longing, and collective hardship, while also illuminating the paths of hope, love, joy, and renewal.

On stage, Diana will perform on voice and guitar, joined by an extraordinary ensemble of new and longtime collaborators:

  • Patrick Wolff (clarinet)

  • Thomas Edler (bass)

  • Aaron Kierbel (drums, percussion)

  • Camellia Boutross (trumpet, electric oud)

  • Sophie Powers (trombone)

  • Magik*Magik String Quartet

  • Members of Inspector Gadje Balkan Brass ensemble

  • Choir of local community members

Diana Gameros has the rare quality as a vocalist of bringing forth a sound which we hear but cannot express. Like Lila Downs, Lhasa, Mercedes Sosa, she digs deep.

Together through music, video projections, and stories, they will create a space to reflect on the hardships of being human in challenging times, while keeping hearts set on the light, on one another, and on the power of music to heal and unite. The concert is both performance and celebration — of resilience, of community, and of the joy that emerges when people come together.

Join us for a reception after the concert where Diana will sign CDs and connect with attendees.

"This album was born out of a time of deep reflection on loss and longing, but also on the resilience, joy, and love that carry us forward. With Volver a la Luz, I wanted to create music that acknowledges our collective hardships while reminding us of the light we can return to through community and song. Sharing this work with an ensemble of dear collaborators makes it all the more meaningful, and I can’t wait to celebrate this journey with everyone at the concert." — Diana Gameros

Diana Gameros’ steady fingerpicking and elegantly simple melody create a calm within the storm, a safe place for big questions and long-ailing wounds that transcend any news cycle.
