ABOUT Lucia agudelo

Lucia Agudelo

ENGLISH

Born in Colombia, Lucia Agudelo is a mother and doctor who crossed borders at 17. San Francisco was her first destination in the United States, where she began to weave a life marked by struggle and service. She studied at the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied Political Science and International Development Studies, not only to understand the world, but perhaps also to transform it.

Her commitment to the most vulnerable led her to Ciudad Sandino, Nicaragua, where she accompanied women survivors of violence and defended healthcare as a right, not a privilege. Later, she understood that medicine could be much more than healing bodies: it could be a platform from which to heal social wounds, challenge unjust systems, and accompany, with dignity, those who have been historically forgotten. She studied with a full scholarship at the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba and graduated in 2017 as a doctor, determined to practice deeply humane and transformative medicine.

She has worked deep in the Sierra Nevada with Indigenous peoples, where she reaffirmed that health is born from respect for culture, land, and dignity. Today, at La Clínica de la Raza in California, she remains indomitable in every consultation, in every community, in every act of care. Because for her, healing is also a way to resist.

ABOUT INDÓMITAS

Indómitas is a live podcast series hosted by Chelis López of KPOO and Radio Bilingüe, featuring interviews with fierce women artists and activists

Each month in Brava’s Cabaret, Indómitas will interview female singers, writers, poets, activists, artists, journalists, filmmakers, and others – some well-known and some deserving to be – for live broadcast. These 60-minute conversations will cover the women’s stories of achievement, pitfalls, and hopes for their futures.

Be ready for open and honest conversations, where intimacy fosters the sharing of joy, fear, acceptance, and ultimately, the strength of women. It’s our time to be the ones who narrate our stories of who we are, what we do, what matters to us and how we organized and stand up for our rights.

Indómitas Podcast Series will be available through Chelis López’ website, and other platforms.
