Los Cenzontles (Los-senn-SONT-less, Nahuatl for “The Mockingbirds”), explore various regional folk traditions from Mexico. Based in San Pablo, CA, they have performed across the U.S., in Europe, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and throughout Mexico. They have produced over 30 albums of traditional Mexican and cross cultural music with artists that include Linda Ronstadt, David Hidalgo, Jackson Browne, The Chieftains, Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder, among others, as well as 20 celebrated documentaries that have been broadcast on PBS and HBO.
