We Live Here! celebrates Cultural Odyssey’s 40th Anniversary Season paying homage to the musical developments, genres and world influencing musicians who have resided and made the San Francisco Bay Area their home.
It is a personal multi-media “odyssey” as seen through the eyes of composer/multi — instrumentalist, Idris Ackamoor, one of the progenitors of “African influenced Jazz” from the 70s through the turn of the century and on into the 21st Century! “We Live Here! will also reflect the topical social issue of artist dislocation, the diminishing presence of African Americans in San Francisco, and the displacement, and the conflicts that are engendered by gentrification and technological progress.
