Front of House Manager
Flora Zulli joined Brava in 2017 as the Front of House Manager. She relocated to the Bay Area in 2006 after living and working in Brasil and her hometown of Chicago. She is a proud Ethnic Studies alumnae from Mills College, which sharpened her interests of activism by women of color, community organizing, and creating sustainable and healthy community based-alternatives to the Criminal (In)Justice system. In 2014 Flora received the prestigious Cortland Auser Award from the National Association of Ethnic Studies (NAES) for her senior thesis entitled, “Gang Injunctions vs. Community Based Safety: A Photovoice Project Exploring and Visualizing Anti-Violence Strategies for the City of Oakland.”
Flora brings to Brava years of experience in community outreach in the Performing Arts and enjoys interacting with all the diverse, multicultural, and multiethnic Brava clients and community. In her spare time she practices yoga, enjoys hikes with her son in the Oakland Hills, DJing and collecting vinyl, and is an active member of the Bay Area Son Jarocho community. She is currently co-organizing and planning the next annual Encuentro de Son Jarocho in Oakland for 2018. Flora feels blessed to be welcomed into the Brava family.
