Cian Murty joined Brava as Technical Director in 2018 after helping with the final install of the newly opened Cabaret Space. As a lighting designer at the Mendocino Music Festival they have designed for a multitude of talented performers ranging from legendary Soul Queen of New Orleans Ima Thomas to Elizabeth Pitcairn, soloist and owner of the 1720 Red Mendelssohn Antonio Stradivari, which inspired the movie The Red Violin. Musicians and dance companies from Africa, Brazil and Japan also graced that stage.
Cian has had the pleasure of working with diverse groups over the years from stage and production management with Keith Hennessy's Circo Zero and Joanna Haigood's Zaccho Dance Theatre to set and lighting design for the CU Boulder MFA in Dance candidates and lighting installations with Gesel Mason at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver.
Cian has found a home at Brava and is proud to be a part of the mission that Brava upholds: community, culture, and art for the voices of youth, LGBTQ, women and people of color.
