Brava Needs Your Tax Deductible Support
Brava! for Women in the Arts is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that owns and operates the Brava Theater Center supporting a wide-range of performing arts programs. Make a onetime donation or become a recurring donor! A recurring contribution of $10 -$20 or more per month will go a long way in strengthening Brava's programming and community opportunities. Brava receives donations through Network For Good which secures your donations through GeoTrust.
A generous donation from you will make the following programs possible:
Brava fosters the artistic expression of women, artists of color, LGBTQ and other unheard voices in the form of co-productions, artist residencies community collaborations, subsidized rentals, fiscal sponsorship and technical assistance. Brava Presents has supported the work of Artists-In Residence Rhodessa Jones, Vdhu Singh, Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe, and Shakiri; presented through a variety of partnerships Latino Theater Company, Trio Los Panchos, the first Son Jarocho Festival and enjoyed collaborations with Accion Latina, Cultural Odyssey and many more.
The Mission Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) at BRAVA provides quality arts training to youth 13-18 in TECHNICAL THEATER, DANCE AND MUSICAL THEATER. MAPA at BRAVA is SF Runnng Crew, Cuicacalli Escuela de Danza, Loco Bloco, and SF Youth Theater 415 Teen Ensemble. MAPA's many performances are technically supported by SF Running Crew, Brava's longest running youth program. Each year, MAPA presents a performance showcase in the Spring Semester.
Brava's storefronts have been boarded up for years. We are now beginning construction on new facilities in those spaces that include a cafe, new office spaces, new and improved dressing rooms and a green room for artists who perform at BRAVA.
We need to raise $2 million dollars to complete the much needed renovations, which will beautify the 24th Street corridor and improve Brava's ability to provide quality performance space to the community.
Funding for this Project has been provided in part by the California Cultural and Historical Endowment.
