Connect with Your Creative Community
Saturday, January 10
8:00 am - 7:00 pm
Kicking things off will be a "poetry keynote" by Pulitzer Prize–winner and former U.S. poet laureate Kay Ryan. Other sessions will include a discussion with authors and publishing professionals about resources for writers in San Francisco; a roundtable on smart self-publishing options; an interactive panel discussion on the Perfect Pitch in which we will invite select audience members to join an agent, an editor, and a publicist on stage; a conversation with award-winning poets and writers about why we write; and a "quarrel" between David Shields and Caleb Powell over the age-old debate of life vs. art. Finally, Joyce Carol Oates will be joined by singer-songwriter Ben Arthur, poet and filmmaker Nick Twemlow, award-winning illustrator Roman Muradov, and dancer Sarah Fiske for a multimedia, interdisciplinary “inspiration experiment.”
This is full-day program with a stellar line-up including Alejandro Murgia, Michelle Tea, and many others. Registration fee includes morning coffee and a networking reception at the end of the day. (Lunch is not included.)
